Classes and Groups

Amuseum Activities for Groups

Overview

We recommend a visit of 90-120 minutes, with two activities and a break between them. When possible, we prefer one outdoor activity and one in the Amuseum exhibit hall. In case of rain, we can do two activities in the exhibit hall. Activities are all bilingual in English and French. We will also be testing some fun new activities this season!

The typical schedule is:

09:00 Introduction/welcome
09:10 First activity
09:50 Break
10:10 Second activity
10:50 Finish

Groups are also welcome to make a shorter visit with one activity.

Our maximum group size for 2022 is one class/25 students.

Visitors will need to bring their own drinking water.

Activities Age 6-9

  1. Amuseum Explore: Students explore the Amuseum exhibit hall, matching images on the Explore activity sheet to objects and images in the Amuseum. This activity does not require reading. Free.
  2. BirdSleuth Habitat Scavenger Hunt: Many birds live on St. Martin, so all the things they need must be here. What are they? (food, water, nesting materials, etc.) In the backyard and gardens, students find all the things on the activity sheet. Adults will need to assist kids if they can’t read. Free.
  3. Creative Craft: Each student decorates a canvas tote bag or backpack with local nature themes and messages, and takes the bag home to use instead of a disposable plastic bag. Free for classes from French Quarter and Sandy Ground, materials fee may be required for other groups.
