Our 2017 season launch event was a massive success and a fantastic time! Huge thanks to our volunteers, Delta Petroleum and our Friends of the Amuseum. Here are some photos from Maël and Mark. Come by next Tuesday for another fantastic festival night, or visit us on a Thursday evening for a quieter museum experience.
Check out the little video we made in preparation for our Season Opening Event this Tuesday! You can read about the event and even join and invite friends on Facebook. Please note that we have a private reception on Tuesday for the Friends of the Amuseum from 4-5pm and then open to the public from 5-10pm.
We have a new column in The Daily Herald‘s Weekender section called Caribbean Curiosities. Each week we take a closer look at something featured in the museum. We’ll be posting all the articles on the Les Fruits de Mer news page, and you can head over now to see the first two.
Every time we create an exhibit, we’re faced with the challenge of what to include and what to leave out. Luckily, with the Caribbean Curiosities articles, we’ll be able to do a deeper dive on some fascinating topics. Grab it in the Saturday Daily Herald every week!
Here’s the final installment of our Preparing Skulls series! We think you’ll find that it all comes together quite nicely for these rather handsome skulls. But don’t worry, we’ll continue to showcase more behind the scenes action as we get the rest of our exhibits ready for display.
Soapberry bugs might make a good exhibit for the museum. Check out this short video about soapberry bugs and the soapberry vine that they depend on. With a little luck, we’re hoping to have both growing strong at Amuseum Naturalis this season.
Here we go again! Let’s check in on the skull soup we made in the last video and take a few more steps to get our skulls looking great for the museum.
As we prepare the museum for the new season, we are excited to take you behind the scenes to see how everything comes together to make Amuseum Natualis. In this video, we go through the initial steps of preparing skulls for display.
